Najib and Adib Naimi's tradiitonal recipes at Kabul originated from their family kitchen in the heart of Kabul, Afghanistan back when they were teenagers. Their mother taught them recipes that were passed down through the generations. The key elements of Afghan Cuisine consist of a robust set of spices that draw their influence from Afghanistan's unique history and the surrounding countries; next is a high-quality and delicately handled diverse set of meats; and lastly is the flavorful and aromatic rice.
In 1988 the Naimi’s opened Kabul Afghan Cuisine in Sunnyvale, CA. From those humble beginnings Kabul’s warm hospitable ambiance and upscale dining experience have propelled it to become a pillar of the community and Silicon Valley dining scene.
